11/03/09: Halloween Saga pt 1

I’m pleased to announce that I have come up with a way to counteract the fact that Christmas keeps creeping in sooner each year, kind of diluting it and ruining it for everyone. I’ve decided to keep pushing Halloween deep into November Territory, thereby gaining ground against Christmas Creep. Poor Thanksgiving gets screwed coming and going, as usual.

On a technical note, I’m still experimenting with some new shading techniques. You may notice it around the Gila Monsters Ghost’s head or you may not, which is the problem with experiments. Basically I’m trying to add some subtle shading to my characters and buildings. Maybe I should have stayed in school.... NNahh.

And finally this strip gets a dedication. There was a sweet woman I once worked with and she very much liked Roadkill Valley. She once asked me to try to use the name “Ramshackle Inn” in one of my strips as sort of homage to her father. It took awhile but I did it. Deborah, this one’s for you.
